Kerstin Schankweiler

Kerstin Schankweiler is an art historian. Currently based in Cologne, she has been an assistant lecturer at the University of Cologne’s the Art History Department since May 2008. Her 2008 dissertation, "Le theatre du monde! - site-specificity and cultural transfer in the installations by George Adéagbo", was published by the University of Trier as part of a dissertation fellowship at the postgraduate program by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) "Identity and Difference"; she has been a founding member of the "Centre for Postcolonial and Gender Studies" (CePoG), University of Trier since 2004. Research topics include art of the 20th and 21st century, contemporary art from Africa, art history and post-colonialism, the myth of the artist, gender and material culture studies.
